win xp safe mode

hi
ive just got my new pc up and running with win xp home. i just installed the software for a fortissimo2 sound card, Yamaha xg player, and as soon as xp starts an error with smonitor alert comes up asking if i want to send an error report to microsoft, before i can do anything the pc reboots itself and just keeps going round in this cycle.

so is there a way to break the cycle, does xp home have an option to get into safe mode to delete the programme i have installed

Same as always, hit F8 just as the OS begins loading, and it will give a nice big menu of start options.
