Win XP RC1 is out!!!

Windows XP build 2505 is RC1... And it's out...
Those who know where to get it - go for it..
Let's hear pluses/minuses.. I think this is an awesome OS... Windows 95 should have been this way...

um XP beta is quite stable, I haven't had it BSOD on me and I've been running every new build since beta 2

Is this download from the program preview ? I signed up and paid but have not heard squat from them. Would any of you that are downloading mind sending me A PM about where to download.

I'm sure you ARE NOT downloading RC1!!
RC1, RC2, Corporate preview etc. ALWAYS have neat,even numbers (eg .3000 = RC1).
As far as I can remember RC1 has always had a version number that ended with .3000!
Also they include the RC1 text in the setup.txt etc. a few WEEKS before the final RC1 comes out!

Well, it's from a sort of program preview, but not MS...

I'm pretty sure build 2505 is RC1. It has RC1 written in the readme and features document. I didn't check, but build 2504 didn't have that I think. It was also due out like 2 weeks ago, so I doubt MS want to wait another couple of weeks...

As I stated (and someone else on this forum earlier) MS includes stuff like that about 1-2 weeks BEFORE the official RC1 is released.
And until now MS has had a policy to give RC1, RC2 etc. ALWAYS nice and neat numbers!

2505 is neat enough for me. I guess we'll see in the next few days... (it won't be 2 weeks, it's already late, and I think they stated a July 4th deadline...)

OK if XP is out how do I get it? I signed up for the download months ago and haven't heard anything from MS on how or when I can download it. Could someone tell me what's up.

CoolVariable- the FINAL build of Win2K isn't a nice round number, why would RC's get round numbers? You just expect them to compile it again and again until they reach 3000 builds?

Actually, I'm told that RC1 is actually build 2505a.

I have no idea what the 'a' build has that 2505 doesn't.

2505 is RC1. I'm at Microsoft's DL site right now, clicked on the RC1 download link, and its build 2505.

are you guys downloading it from a warez site? cause I thought pirated versions wouldn't work?
