Win XP Pro + Win2000 file sharing problem

I have one comp A running WinXP Pro (SP1) and comp B running Windows2000 Pro (SP4). They're set in the same workgroup.

Now comp A can access comp B shared files. But on comp B, when I go into "Network Places" and try to access comp A, it says "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer".

Is there something more I need to configure on comp A? Thanks.

I am assuming you are have file sharing on comp A turned on. If it is using NTFS, it would not work if you are sharing folders in My documents. You will have to share the whole C drive.

You might want to provide quite a bit more information about your specific network setup. But to start with I might guess that you have Simple File Sharing enabled on the Windows XP Pro computer. If so, I believe it is expecting you to authenticate as Guest from the other computer. So, you can try to connect as Guest from the Windows 2000 machine, or you can turn off Simple File Sharing on the WinXP machine and use one of its accounts to log on. Hope that made sense.
