Win XP pro KR7A-RAID question

Linflas

Lifer
I did a clean install of XP on a new setup using the KR7A board. So far the only 3rd party driver I loaded was the Highpoint one at install time for the RAID. The machine has been rock solid stability wise since I built it. I have read a lot of conflicting things regarding the VIA 4 in 1 drivers and installing them on XP including things such as install them by right clicking on the file and running in Windows 2000 mode to get to the AGP turbo settings. I am curious if they even need to be installed and do I gain anything by installing them?

Hi ya LinFlas,

Glad to hear you got your machine running rock solid! Lets keep it that way! 😀

In other words, do not install the latest 4in1's, XP already has 4.35's built-in and it obviously works fine. If you can afford the downtime and headaches, then take the risks of installing what is not necessary -- the latest 4in1's.

Keep it real!
