WIN XP + Msoft Optical Mouse= Shut Down problem?

I got a HP ze1110 Lappy. I bought an external Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical and connected through USB port.

Everything works fine... ONLY that it hangs every single time i shut down.

I called HP and they said the problem lies with the mouse and i have to disconnect the mouse before i shut down!! HELPPPPP


Is there other way? Anyone faces this problem? Should i exchange for a logitech optical mouse and try it?

Pls help, much appreciated.


I have not tried disabling my touchpad yet i may try that but not sure how.

I'm running WIN XP Home Ed.

I said i have not tried that yet. I'm not sure how but i'll try. 🙂
