During the install process of WinXP Pro, the install lost contact with my CD drives (holding the install CD). I moved them to my Promise controller and now they are recognized by XP. When contact was lost it said it could not find files to install, to get out of that I told it skip (probably a mistake). Now Win XP boots but is missing a whole bunch of files - IE6, WMP8, Netmeeting, movie maker, messenger - and TCP/IP doesn't work. It's too late to recover the install. Would just installing XP again from the CD to the same location fix the problem? Should I remove XP first? How would I do that without messing up the MBR (I'm dual booting with Win 98 SE)? Any ideas?
