I am going to do a clean install of my slipstreamed winxp pro + SP2... after this I want to ghost the image of the HD so that I can have a clean install next time I do it quite quickly.... Is there any way to stop windows installing drivers so that my ghost can be used easily on other computers...( NON PIRATES I have some friends with legal copies of XP pro!!! don't like piracy)

thanks for any help

Why do you want to not install drivers! The system won't work unless they are installed!

I'm pretty sure you can sysprep it and have it redetect the hardware during that, I don't remember the options it gives you and I don't have the files on my computer at the moment and I'm to lazy to dig them out.

Edit,

I got off my lazy butt and looked, you tell it to do a Minisetup, I'm pretty sure this will work.

Edit again,

Select the PNP also.

You could ghost it easily, or you could use sysprep. Both scenarios assume a few things, like a supported disk device and the same HAL, but generally speaking it'll work fine.

PNP won't help unless you have ancient ISA hardware that's PnP-capable. In other words, you probably don't need to specify it.
