My windows fail to boot. It happened all of a sudden so I
have no clue. It starts booting normally then after the
windows logo screen (w/ black background), instead of
taking me to desktop it reboots itself. I tried to boot in
Safe Mode, but same symptom. (F8 -> Win Logo screen ->
reboot) So basically I can't start the OS at all.

All I have done to my system yesterday was installing WMP
9, but I doubt that's causing this prob.. Any help would
be greatly appreciated..

Oh btw Windows version is XP Pro, and the HD is NTFS-formatted.

next time is does that, choose, "boot from last know good configuration" . If that doesn't work, you'll have to take the drive to another machine, error checked it, and hopefull it will fix some errors and you can be on yoru marry way.

I've also had a similar problem while running on an NTFS partition and I will never install another NTFS partition on my comptuer again!!!!!! (unless I acually need security) It took me like 4 hours to fix since the problem happened w/ my RAIDed drives, so I had to take my spare HDD, install it on a spare IDE channel, formate it, intsall xp, install RAID drivers, run scan disk, boot to my RAID drives, and have them work. I also didn't have access to the interenet at the time so I couldn't d/l a NTFS boot disk so I could use scandisk.

I have the same problem and found this by searching :(

I am going to try to load the hd into another machine and work on it there but am a little concerned to say the least.

Yippee! I loaded it into another machine, ran error check, ran Norton Disk Doctor on it, put it back in the original computer and it works fine now.
