I loaded the latest via latency patch, and my event viewer shows the follwing:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
VIAPFD

Anyone else seeing this in their event viewer?

In VIA hardware forums members are having same problem,

<< just tried the patch in Windows 2000 and it gives in an error in the event viewer under system that the Service Control Manager experienced an error. Checking the properties, it says that viapfd.sys (the patched driver) was not able to load. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling and still does not work. That figures. >>

Note!!

<< Ummmm...hey guys. The patch is only for systems with a RAID or SCSI set up. If RAID or SCSI is not recognized the patch does not load. Hence your errors.

John Gatt from VIA Arena made this very clear on that site

I've downloaded the patch but not installed it yet.

Will it help my onboard RAID? (KT7A-RAID). The HPT 370 controller runs off the PCI bus so it will, right?
