Win XP and RAID??

I am running Windows 98 and my mobo is an Asus CUBX.For some reason windows is detecting a PCI Raid controller and unable to find drivers for it.I got the mobo used and have no discs or anything...I also HAVE NO IDEA what I would use this device for even if I had drivers.Im not even very sure exactly what it does.🙁

Im getting ready to move to Windows XP pro,I have heard about some probs with raid in XP.I just want to know if this is something I should fix or do something about before I attempt to upgrade?

(I also posted this in general hardware because I was unsure where to post it)

I'm not familiar with that mobo. If it does have raid on it and you are using raid then you need to have a raid driver disk. You can probably get this from the mobo maker's web site. If your mobo doesn't have raid then I would think that win98 is incorrectly thinking that there is raid. Winxp shouldn't make this mistake. If it is raid then when you install xp you will see on the bottom of the screen in the beginning a message saying to hit f6 to set up raid. Then you will have to insert the raid driver disk at that time. Hope this helps.....

Ok...Can I skip this step and not mess with the raid? Or is this something I need to deal with. Will it cause any probs if I do skip it?
