I am having problems with media player. When it pops up to play it is either way slow or it sounds like the chipmunks. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no changes. Real player plays the file just fine. I have had this problem since I upgraded to amd athlon 900 and gigabyte mb. Anyone know what I need to do? I have dsl. Could that have something to do with it?:disgust:
 
Yes on the latest bios. My current chipset is AMD 750. Will the 4 in 1 via drivers work for this?
 
I would update your sound card drivers and see where that gets you. What SC are you using?

I would also give upgrading your directX version to 8.1 if you haven't already. Sometimes weird things can happen. Who knows, media player might be using directSound to play things 🙂
 
It says I am using the best driver already. ESS 1869 sound card. Their site says it doesnt provide those drivers for win me as it is on the installation disk of operating sys. Reinstalled the drivers with no change. Downloaded files play really slow and files from internet like cnn play like chipmunks. I really appreciate your help.
