I'll stick a few T 'n A pics on the HD so it will be a win-win for both of us! :) Opps, that assumes you are of age!

lol...if I average six per day, I'm only going to pick up 180...ah well. Those with more computers will get yet another..and those with one shall remain stuck. :D

/edit2 - Clarified that WUs must be crunched under my ID to count towards the contest.

Edit...wait a second...is he offering to trade his computer for a huge boost to his SETI stats..? ;)

Good deal, though..somebody's going to love it :)

Yes, the plan is to help my account; thus, helping the TeAm. I'm trying to move up as much as possible in the overall standing before SETI-1 ends. If you are ONLY getting 6 WU/day you you can still win if you run your system longer than the oters (ie 24x7 for the full month of April.) The winner is based on total time crunched, unless their is a tie.

If you are having trouble downloading SetiDriver, then here is another link.

I'd like to thank Confused for hosting the file and providing the link! Thanks Garry!

Maybe a short term sticky Mods???

Things drop so fast on OT because of the volume of many threads that are mainly "chatter".

There was a thread started by Danc about the folks in the DC Forum raising funds to give to the USO for the Care Packages for our troops. The goal was $1,000 by this Sunday. We have come close but the thread Danc placed in OT dropped to the bottom in OT so fast it didn't get a chance to help in the good cause.

Ah life in OT, what was that movie Fast & Furious?

You are free to use as you wish, by adding to or using parts as you wish!
NOTE: System does not inlcude Monitor, keyboard or mouse as it is being used with a KVM.

This is a contest to win the above system with free shipping to anywhere in the U.S.

I have been running SETI@Home for almost 3 years using my own resources without corporate help. I have bought and built all but three of the 23 systems that are crunching under my name. A few months back I renamed my account to TeAm M&M to acknowledge the help given me by David McOwen, who is hosting some of my systems. In the past 2.67 years I have been able to work my way to 506th place worldwide. But, I don't seem to be able to gain any more ground. I am hoping SETI 1 will be over soon and I would like to gain as much ground as possible before then. This is where the contest comes in.

We will run this contest for 30 days. The person who contributes the most CPU time during that 30-day period will win. Even if you have a slow computer you can win by consistently crunching with your machine, or machines, running 24x7.

Rules:
1..You may not divert resources from any other TA Distributed Computer project.
2..Total WUs for the contest must be at least 500.
3..If the total has not reached 500 at the end of 30 days,
... then we can continue the contest until that goal is reached.
....If all quite before 500 WU is reached then there is no winner.
4..If SETI 1 ends before the contest is over then the person
....with the most time contributed will win, in the case of a tie
....the highest WU count will win.
5..All submitted Work Units must be sent through my SETIQueue.
....It will be responsibe for keeping track of contest progress.
6..The contest will start March 31st, 2003 at 10:00 PM EST and run for entire month of April 2003.
7..WUs must be submitted using my ID, as explained in the instructions.
8..Send me your email address for instructions.

There are two other reasons I am doing this:

1. To help Team AnandTech to maintain 5th place worldwide. We have been getting our butts kicked recently and really need your help!
2. We are moving and need to get rid of some computers.

SetiDriver.

/edit - backed up start time by 2 hours.
/edit2 - Clarified that WUs must be crunched under my ID to count towards the contest.
/edit 3 - Added link to SetiDriver since the one in my instructions is not working.
/edit 4 - Now that I'm home for the weekend I've been able to verify what is in the machine and have changed the specs listed above. It is better than I thought.

The contest has started. I did screen prints with the status of the first 2 contestants at 10:00 PM EST. There is still time to get involved. If you don't want to be in the contest you can still help.
