I heard from a couple of people, that "I have Win box or Linux box". Why is that? As I know Win or LInux is OS(operating system)

Yes Windows and Linux are just Operating Systems.

But when people have multiple computers with different operating systems, they tend to refer to them as my "Windows Box" or "Linux Box". Which just means that its the computer with that particular OS installed on it.

My Linux box is my server box.. haven't rebooted it in forever...

My XP box is really a Win2000 box with a bunch of UI crap and some "compatibility". Blech. XP = die!

Of course there's always dual-booting. Most of my machines run some flavor of windows + either RedHat Linux or Debian GNU/Linux.
Though that kind of labelling is short sighted, since for all they know you could be running x86 Solaris, or hell you could be running a Mac. :)
