No?? Are they? That would be completely awesome! I know a shop in my area that preps rallye cars and they set up a couple of Lancer EVO's. That is one cool car, especially outfitted in race form. Dunno if I'm crazy about the right drive though, much like the imported Nissan Skyline's. The Lancer that they gave the US is a huge pile IMO. I'd love to see the Lancer EVO, just like I wanted to see the Escort RS and of course the Skyline. Are they really going to do it or are you pulling my chain?

They're trying to get me to buy one in their slick ads showing people singing along to BNL. Don't worry about not being able to sign up for the form. OTOH, it would be worth cash and cash could buy you something better.

BTW.. I had a friend that won a Jeep from a beer promotion. She sold it just to pay off the taxes she had to pay on it. The state really sticks it to you. I think it was over $1k in taxes..

Sweet, bringing the EVO to the US will force other, more reliable, manufacturers to bring their rally cars to the US.

I thought they were going to be typical and only bring the laughable "O-Z Rally" here.

Now I gotta hold off on buying the Sentra SE-R to see what else comes out.

We get the same version of the Lancer that the whole world gets. When my X-girlfriend moved to Panama, she got a Lancer, not much diffrent than this (except older and diffrent body style).

Everyone in the US forgets that EVO makes prolly 1% or so of ALL Lancer sales. We in the US have gotten screwed into not getting most of the Cool cars, we think ever car not sold in the us is some 276HP Turbo Monster.

Same thing when Infinity announced the G35 (Skyline) all the car guys (and gals) were complaining that it isn't TT w/insane HP and AWD with a GTR badge. Again, my skylines were just regular 4 door sedans...

But yes, we are getting the new EVO in the US, to play against the WRX (EVO will spank it :) )

Ah yes......ignorance.

The EVO VII does not compete with the WRX, it competes both in price and performance to the WRX STi, big difference. Most UK reviews and comparos that I have read prefer the WRX STi over the EVO VII.

And the EVO VII has not been confirmed on making the trip stateside. In fact, the WRX STi has a much better chance of coming here, since the EVO has a Front mounted intercooler, which makes passing US crash tests VERY difficult. WRX STi uses a top mount intercooler. Hence the hood scoop (fully functional, unlike the scoops on Mustangs and celicas)

And one more thing, the EVO VII is not even based on the Lancer chassis anymore, it has moved to the Charisma chassis.
