Hello........on my kids computer the color got changed to 16 color and when I go to change it , in control panel, settings I can see to change the color but the window is to big to see the " apply" option. I have try to change the size of that window but I cant get it. How can I make that window smaller so I can see the seletions on the bottom of it ?? I cant even change the resolution becouse I cant see the apply button.

Thanks

Also, don't forget that when just the dialog is selected(not any of it's controls, like the color selection drop-down), pressing enter will select the default button, which, in this case, should be OK. Also, if that doesn't work, get to safe mode(F8 just before the windows 98 splash screen shows), head over to the display properties, and hit apply there. that will default your settings.

Here is another option. When the display properties are displayed, click anywhere to select that box. Then hit and hold down the alt key and press space then m. Release the alt key. Now you can move the box with arrow keys until the selection you want is visible and click on the box. Now you can make your selection. Repeat until you have done your selections and apply. Try this first(change the resolution first), but may not fix your problem.

It sounds as if your display driver crashed, which may have been caused by malware stealing cycles. If this is the case you will need to go to safe mode to remove the existing display driver in device manager and reinstall the driver.

Then you could check for malware (there is a great guide sticked on the software-apps forum.)
