I have a used OEM win 98 CD and manual.
If it has been previously registered by the original owner can I contact MS so I can register it myself?

:)

I can understand why you may want to use Win98, old programs, have a fetish for antique things that just didnt work...etc...

But I think by THIS you wouldn't need to register. They stopped mainstream support at the end of June. If they wont support it I really dont think they will care if you use it ;) In other words, don't sweat it, just use it if you want.

Hey! I can run old games on W98 for 2-3 hours before memory/resource leaks lock up the OS and force me to hit the reset switch! ;)
