Looks fine...

Since you've tried to use your email address as a username im gonna go out on a limb and say... just leave your pc alone, don't worry about it, its fine.

Where are you looking that the four/eight cores are not showing up?

You should go into Device Manager and look under Processors. This should show eight i7 cores and the speed they are running.

You can also go into Task Manager, click on the Performance tab, on the right hand side toward the bottom you should see Maximum Speed, Sockets, Cores, and Logical Processors. Cores should read 4 and Logical Processors should be 8 for your chip.

The default view in task manager in win8 only shows an overall graph for the cpu, right mouse button on the graph and you can change it to show the individual cores.
