I have a olde Cisco 871w thats split in two (vlans) that is changing something after each shutdown/reload. Anybody know what might be making Windows 7 see a different Net? Does Win7 go by mac of AP or router int or both?

Each time it does its like "Wireless 1" then "Wireless 2" and asks for Hone,Work and Public dialog too.

Thanks.

Question isnt clear enough. Regarding the vlan portion - if anything is updating its vlan database, it could be overwriting them, as in another switch not set to vtp transparent mode. Also, once you get the router like you want it, are you saving the new running config?

How does Windows 7 ID different nets? Win XP and even Vista has no trouble. All smart phones, no trouble.

While its a great new feature making AP spoofing less likely. I just need to know how it does it. Example: dynamic mac on a vitrual interface - Static mac fixes it etc.
