Win 7, Driver not installed

on cold start or restart win 7 [64 bit] searches for a driver and reports,

'Device driver software was not successfully installed'
Officejet Pro L7600

in device manager it is installed, the printer works fine,

in C:hpzids40.dll - could Win 7 put the driver in the wrong location

it is connected with cat5 cable to Modem/Router

i installed the software package from HP [64 bit] with and without compatability mode for Vista SP2, still the same.

Maybe delete the device and driver? Then reinstall using Win7's driver? If Win7 contains a driver that works fine, no need to use the ones provided by HP.

had to uninstall in both programs and device manager which left the folder, a quick boot to safe mode and delete the folder and a couple reboots to confirm and alls well, windows found the printer and installed a different driver, alls good
