Win 2K vs. Unix, E-commerce

I have my choice with a new host which server to use. All available options seem same, but Win2K is $20
more per month. I always thought Unix was more reliable for servers. Anybody know why they would
charge more for 2K?? I don't need Front Page.
There's no phone # shown, and don't want to wait for email.

"Unix" isn't going to be what's running on those machines, it's going to be a Unix variant, of which quite a few are free to use (Linux, Free/Open/Net BSD, Darwin, etc.) and Win2k cost's money (server costs quite a bit more then Pro too). That's why "Unix" would likely be cheaper. It IMHO is more reliable, easier to setup (for a server) and just plain makes more sense. I wouldn't hesitate for a second in getting the Unix setup over the Win2k.

There can be debates on desktop choices, but the choice is much more clear cut when choosing a server OS . . .
