Win 2K problims

I posed a thing about how my roomates comp was having problims with explorer on his Win 2K machineHere someone suggested lookin atthe error log so i did got the error when i tried to open it actually and this is what the log said wheni looked at it

"The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: CTSYN "

i really have no clue what that means and thats pretty much what all the errors in there say. any of you know what means?

CTSYN....Creative Technology Synthesiser.....You have a Creative Soundcard? Reinstall the drivers and/or upgrade to the latest version.

yea he has a sounblaster live value card

ok we just reinstalled the drivers for his card newest ones off teh creative site and hes still gettin the same error

make sure you use the win 2k version drivers.

Uninstall all the Creative drivers and software first (from Add/Remove programs), reboot and then reload the latest Windows 2000 drivers and see if that cures the problem.

Another thing you could try to do is physically remove the card from the machine and see if the problem goes away - if it does you can be sure that it is actually the SB card causing the problems.

ok we have done all that uninstalled the driver and the card and reinstalled them still dose the same thing. i tried unstilling it and leaving it that way and it still does the same thing i beginning to thing its not the sound card

If you just want the error to go away, set HKLM\System\CCS\Services\CTSYN\Start = 4
