win 2k pro and login????

Posted in networking too, but no play yet, need help fast. Thanx!

Ok, so when my computer at work was originally set up (Win 2k pro) server is NT 4. for the domain, it was set up to log me into the computer and my domain name as the workgroup, not actually into the domain (unable to run scripts on my PC, etc). I have everything on my desktop and login name set up the way I like it. I had removed my computer from the workgroup and added it to the domain. Problem is now I have the choice of loggin in to my computer with: Domain (Mike this computer) which gives me everything I want except the actual domain log in) or
My second choice under domain is the domain name itself, which will run my scripts etc, but has a generic blank desktop and almost none of my programs are there. How can I combine the 2, get all my programs on my login (login names are the same by the way and admin privilages all around) AND log into the actual domain and run my scripts, etc. THANKS!

You need to log into your domain account, then log out and log back into a different account with admin priviledges. Then right click on my computer, go to properties, then user profiles tab. Highlight your local (not domain) account and hit the copy button. Browse to your domain profile (should have the same name with .domainname extension). Then under "permitted to use" make sure you give your domain user account permission to use it.

This will copy your old profile (desktop items, settings, favs, etc) to your domain profile so that you dont have to rebuild it from scratch.
