Win 2k does not completely shutdown

Besides disabling the power issue in the BIOS

Do you have anything open at the time, a certain application? Also, I know older verisions of antivirus software will prevent from shutting down Windows 2K properly.

You might want to check task manager when its lock up and see whats "not responding".


 
this can also be caused by a ever so slightly flaky powersupply or motherboard, I typically just deal with it, but I also never turn off my machines except for upgrades of course 🙂
