Win 2k boot.ini invalid.

Hi all.
Got a question about a quick, dirty way to fix my boot.ini file. It is reported as invalid by Windows on startup; the computer boots ok except for that message. I've looked up and checked and rechecked the correct spelling of everything and syntax and all that...looks just like Microsoft's example (yes I know to change the numbers for partitions, raid info, etc.). I've even tried deleting the old file and recreating it as well as moving it from C:\ to be with my other .ini files, and the same error occurs.
Also, the file doesn't show up in sysedit.
I'd rather not go through Window's repair options if I dont' have to. Any suggestions out there?

its a simple file, just re-write it from scratch if you dont want windows to do it. If you don't know how then let us know the partitions and way they are setup, etc... and we can help.... or you can spend some time on technet learning how to write it. But I'd just spend the 3 minutes running fixboot from th recovery console, thats why its there......

This is one of the many reasons you make ERD's....

Yeah, I have some ERD's, I'm just lazy. But at this point it seems the easiest way to get rid of the error.
Thanks all.
