win 2003 system tray problem

I have a problem with my windows 2003 system tray. The clock is showing in the bottom right corenr where the usual windows clock is supposed to show up, however other things that are usually supposed to be in the system tray like the speakjer icon and other tray items are not showing up, all that is there is the clock in itslef, and nothing else. What gives?
