Hello,
I have two win 2000 machines sharing files with each other which was innitially set up by logging in to the others machine when I clicked on thier computer icon. When the comuter I logged into changes their password, I can no longer access the files, and win 2000 does not prompt for me to type in a new password? Is there any way to reset this, or to access this stored password somewhere? Thanks.

Do you have a drive letter that's mapped? You might need to disconnect and reconnect that drive if you do, to pass the new credentials.

Also, did you log out and back on since you changed the passwords? You have to if you haven't.

If it's not either of those, then please explain exactly your setup and process you're going through on the copy, it's probably just a simple authentication problem...

You are right, it seems a reboot cleared the password from memory, so it could then prompt me again. Thanks.
