You guys are blind. watch again!

Clark wasn't even trying to tackle and even tucked his arms to his own body as he speared McGahee. In addition to that Clark left his feet and launched his body head first high into McGahees. There are no motions Clark makes to indicate that he was trying to do anything than launch his helmet into McGahee's helmet.

You have no clue what spearing is. Spearing in football means hitting straight on with the crown of your helmet so that your spine is in perfect alignment and doesn't flex at all when you make impact. Ryan Clark led with his shoulder. So what if he wasn't trying to wrap him up? He was trying to knock the ball lose and he accomplished it.

LOL. What are you, a Ravens fan or somebody who lost money on the game?

I see what spearing is at 55sec as Clark straightened up and went up to meet McGhahees helmet.

It's not spearing. Clark led with his shoulder, and they both went low.

you are allowed to launch shoulder first at someone, w/out your arms trying to 'wrap them up', and that is exactly what clark did.

and it was not high at all. he went low. mcgahee also went low, which is why they hit head on head.

Clark left his feet to go high. Why else would he leave his feet?

McGhahee did'nt know what he was doing because he just turned around and boom.

He left the ground to make sure all of his momentum was driven in with his shoulder.

How can you claim he was leading with shoulder? Stop video at :51 Clarks head is over 6 inches in front of his shoulder and remains that way until impact.

If you stop it at :48 you can clearly see Joe Flacco behind the grassy knoll.

plus mcgahee lowered his head into clarks helmet. It wasn't intentional on either parties part. Clean, unfortunate hit. Sure we could pussify it and have the players wear flags, I'm sure that's what some folks here want.

Leading with shoulder

You can't be serious. That was after the hit.

Wait a minute, same dude who nailed Welker while his head was turned in Dec. during Pats/Steelers matchup right??..I see a pattern here..

That was just crap luck. McGahee's position when he was knocked out was a little scary (hands stuck in the air instead of on the ground)

Yes, the same guy. Again, the hit on Welker was rough, but is there any rule against hitting him before he sees you?

From what I understand the rules state that unless it's 100% provable the player intentionally lead with their head (unanimous decision by officiators which didn't happen) then a player won't be suspended. IMO it wasn't his fault as he did TRY to lead with his right shoulder. McGahee was a little too fast and got past the shoulder so there was helmet contact. It's easy to claim helmet to helmet at super slow motion, but at full speed there was absolutely nothing that said Clark was aiming for head.

I really wanted the Ravens to make it, but this was clean guys. You need to understand how hard it is to adjust for flawless shoulder placement in situation like that. He did the best he could.

So do I. He plays the Strong Safety position.

Agreed. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I'm a Ravens fan and I think the hit was clean. McGahee did lower his head to try to brace for the impact, and Clark appeared to try and hit him with his shoulder.

Unfortunate result, but I won't let me being a fan get in the way of better judgement.

McGahee's got some freakin' terrible luck with injuries, eh? This could have been much worse, though.

No, no rule but the fact that the ball was tipped and never got to Welker didn't help, also he had a chance to let up but didn't. Maybe it's time to send a fullback on a pass route just to plant his punk ass one time..

He should retire. He got his knee blown up against tOSU in the 03 NC game and now nearly lost his head. Take your millions and retire.

I don't think this site knows what it's talking about -- there is no way that was just a concussion, especially since they said (league) that he has considerable neck pain. He can move his limbs fine though, which is good.

Leave the medicine to the doctors. It could easily be "just" a concussion. It could've been worse and still been a concussion.
