And that is why rights and freedoms shouldn't be given to just anybody who doesn't have a crime record. As that comedian said, you can't fix stupid.

Fixed for what they really mean.

You gotta love the underlying idea that rights are given in the first place, and therefore subject to popular opinion and government revocation.

Damn straight, particularly the right not to get shot when taking a piss in your own home.

And he violated her rights. So your course of action is to violate everyone else's rights in order to correct his mistake?

Wow...

It takes a very simple mind to blame inanimate objects for the actions of a human being.

It takes a simpler mind not to associate the gun availablity with shootings.

Guns don't make people shoot people. Again, you are blaming the inanimate object for the actions of people.

Adults are not children, but free individuals. Too bad you want to treat society like a kindergarten class and childproof it.

Right to own slaves? Gotta love that one too - or maybe there is something to be said for review and revocation...

The right to own another human being was not a natural right, which is obvious since it clearly violates the very basis of every human right. The right to self-defense, on the other hand, is and always will be a basic human right.

Yay this turned into a gun control thread.

Gun nuts, go shoot yourselves
Anti-gun tards, go jump off a bridge.

NO ONE CARES ABOUT EITHER OF YOUR OPINIONS

So he gets up in the middle of the night and doesn't even hesitate for the moment it takes to feel if his wife is next to him or not and quick draws like Jesse James and nails her dead in the chest? That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard.

Had you been a tad less obtuse, you would have noticed the thread was started as an anti-gun talking point by the biggest leftist parrot on AT.

Perhaps. However, it does take a very simple mind to associate accidents, violence, and crime with inanimate objects.

And when the inanimate object has an exclusively violent purpose? Or are guns primarily used to pretend you're the lone ranger in front of the mirror? I have to go, but the bottom line is that I prefer living in a country where guns are not widely available, if only because I sometimes get up to piss during the night and there have been instances when my girlfriend may have wanted to shoot me.

Does he usually post about it on P&N (where this belongs)? If so, I don't go there so I didn't know and I'm sorry.

My guns must be defective since none of them have been used for a violent purpose. Perhaps I should return them to the manufacturer.

And, I have no problem with you not wanting to be around firearms. You clearly lack the knowledge necessary to properly own and operate such tools. However, don't try and attack those of that do choose to own them.

So you'll be staying where you're at then? That's good.

Yes, most of his squawking is in P&N but it does bleed over here from time to time.

No time to look up gun related death figures in US and compare to Canada, but I'm sure you can google that all on your lonesome.

And what would that prove? The number of gun-related crimes means nothing. What is important is the overall crime rate. And, even that cannot be directly compared among countries due to different data collection methodologies, cultural factors, etc.

Even then, at the end of the day, the rights of citizens should not be eliminated because of the misuse of those rights by criminals.

What is the purpose of a gun?

Cheers for the vote of confidence and thanks for the advice, but I'll continue to "attack" when and where I please, what are you going to do, shoot me?

Yeah, if people are shooting other people, guns clearly have nothing to do with it

Tell me, is the murder rate for other means also lower in Canada? Of course it is. The US doesn't have a gun control problem, we have a violence problem.

The presence of guns alone is not enough to spike the murder rate. What is also required is intent.

There are other countries with private gun ownership rates close to the US who have crime rates as low, or lower than Canada's.

That is possible, but if you admittedly have a problem with violent crime, perhaps gun availability could be viewed as an aggravating factor.

Hey, this is just another flame-baiting troll thread by Phukus. He's sitting in front of his keyboard with his dick in his hand getting off reading all this.

It belongs in P&N, but he just can't control himself.

Move it or lock it.

Target shooting? Hobby? Home Defense? There are a ton of reasons for purchasing a firearm. Just because you do not understand this doesn't give you the moral authority to proclaim that people shouldn't have them just because there are a few idiots out there that misuse them.

Where does it stop? Are you going to want to ban everything that can accidentally kill someone if misused?

I can't wait till some gun zealot here gets shot by their kid or accidentially shoots their kid. Karma bites, bitch!

Yeah, that's what they thought when they banned alcohol... and then drugs. Only to find that criminals will get those banned items with as much if not greater ease than when they were legal.

Banning guns does nothing but disarm the law abiding. Criminals will still be armed.

Not to mention I don't want to live under any government that does not trust it's citizens to be armed.

In short, banning guns because of crime is like banning cars because of drunk drivers. It's absurd.

That's like saying I can't wait until some gun grabber gets gang raped or killed in a mass shooting or shot in a home invasion.

In other words, you're a fucking idiot.

I can't wait till some gun pussy gets their home invaded and is tied up and forced to watch their wife and daughter gang raped because they were too blind to see the advantages to a properly used firearm. Karma bites, bitch!
