haha i saw him the other day in the elevator. my friend with me gasped because it was the first time she saw him. me and the other guy she was with ... well ... we laughed once he got off. 🙂

lol. about few months ago, i saw him come out of dwinelle in a flaming yellow windbreaker, with his 'charismatic' smile (that real goofy one). i couldn't tell who he was laughing with or at cause he was by himself.
 
He isn't good on the album, but he's mediocre. That's why I think the album sucks. I liken it to karaoke bars. The memorable people are the ones who are REALLY good, or REALLY bad. The mediocre ones are easily forgettable. This album is so overproduced that he sounds mediocre, thus making it forgettable.

Another example of this idea is when a sports team (not one you follow), is on a record breaking losing streak or seemingly going to finish with the worst record ever. Once it wins enough that neither of those dubious goals is a possibility, then they are just another also-ran and people lose interest quickly.

Anyhow, this whole thing needs to die soon IMHO. I was more sympathetic in the beginning, but now it's starting to really wear thin...

Studio time is not the commodity it used to be. While home recording solutions have been available for years, there's a host of relatively cheap hardware and software that can rival anything a studio can produce. Also, I think a lot of crap today is overproduced. Is Jessica Simpson a really talented vocalist? It's generic pop music. Many legitimate singer/songwriters do some of their best work outside a studio anyway. William Hung putting out a CD just because he's a dork isn't going to come at the expense of the next Beck.

Did you give any of the tracks a good listen? The engineering and production is pretty good, not the kind of thing you hear from most garages or basements. Yes, studio time has come down dramatically, but the time for good producers and engineers has not.

Jessica Simpson is an okay singer, not good or great my any means. She can carry a tune and then a bit more but her voice is very one dimensional and she has no ability to interpret the music. JMO though. Let's face it, she's pretty and can sing okay so she's marketable. That's what the majority of the market wants. Luckily we have some great tracks from the past to listen to, maybe those singer/songwriters weren't as nice to look at, but they actually made great music.

That is 100% possible now. It has an Amazon.com sales rank of 15! Holy crap! I saw him on campus the other day, and I was just thinking, "his record is selling better than people who can actually sing!" Something is just unnatural and wrong with that!

I bought his CD at bestbuy and I can say that it wasn't too bad,.. his singing needed some more work, but it was better than before on AI3 trials.
 
Who would actually pay for this crap?! He has zero talent as a singer. Entertainment value (laughing at him) only lasted 5 minutes for me, after that why would I ever want to hear him sing again?

It just proves that some idiot out there will buy anything....it is what keeps eBay alive with junk auctions.
 
I was at walmart today on my way to the checkout line... i like up at the monitor and up there is The Hungster praising Walmart and singing SheBangs. He must be raking in some good dough!
 
In reading this thread, I can see that some people will still get really worked-up over nothing.

The reason they still sell Fords & Chevrolets is clearly evident, here.
