As the topic states, I"m wondering if the Zalman will fir a k8n neo2 plat mobo? I'm trying to decide if I want the zalman or a thermalright p-90, but I want the computer as quiet as possible while still cooling well. Anyone out there know if this combo will work? Thanks

Definately. Even the Thermalright XP-120 (same as the XP-90, but 120mm fan) will fit that board.

But for your choice of coolers, get the Zalman if you want quiet, the Thermalright if you want cool.

You'll need to buy the CNPS7000B-Cu to fit a 939 (note the 'B'). Also, according the Thermalright.com, the XP-120 doesn't fit the Neo2. The XP-120 is not the same as the XP-90. It's much bigger.

nonsense. remove the existing backplate msi puts on the mobo, and put on the backplate that comes with the cnps7000A and voila it fits just fine... look

From what I know, the sole purpose of the B version was to add 939 compatability. And you're saying that the A version works fine with 939? Thank God. Here I was thinking I would have to drop $50 on a new heatsink for the A64 stuff I'm about to buy, when I just got this 7000AlCu a week ago. You are saying what I said I think you did, right? Will that work with an Asus A8V Deluxe?

sure. there is no difference between 939 and 754 except the # of pins. The cpus themselves are the same size. What would it matter what board you throw it on ? :) The only thing with thw 7000alcu is you need to use the backplate that comes with it, cause you use those two nibs for installation on a64 and most backplates have a riser where the screws go and for the zalman the two screws have to be flush against the mb when you screw them down. hence you use the included backplate.
