Will your credit card limit keep increasing even if you've never used the card?

Mine keeps increasing, but I put the card in a block of ice in the freezer, and never memorized the number.
hehe i did that for a while but I use my CC for every single purchase I can and pay it off (ideally) at month's end. I have a bunch of points now that I can redeem for Bestbuy gift certificates 😀 I'm all about using my card and they raise the limit at a decent rate.

Reason I asked is i just paid off all my debt... 😀 whew...i'm going to have 3-4 cards that will not be used... one of them has never been used 🙂

Congratulations and hopefully you can keep it that way.

You can still continue to use your credit card but use it responsibly and I'm sure that you'll have no problems in getting cc increases.

Yup........... I don't touch my Visa becaue I use my MC all of the time for the Airmiles I collect 🙂

I left the visa at $2000 limit when I next noticed my limit had been increased to $6000. I'll probably give the CC company a call and decrease that to $1000 for internet purchases.

I was once 14,000 dollars in debt on 5 credit cards. I got a good job and saved hard and paid off all of them. I then made the mistake of cancelling all but one of my credit cards and keeping the one with the best rate. This actually hurt my credit score because the oldest of those cards was 4 years old, the one I kept had been open a year. I would have been better off to keep all the accounts open and just not use them.

Sure your limit can increase without usage. It's silly to think otherwise. I only use one card and I have many, yet the limits on the others periodicly increase.
