Will you Buy Vista Just to Play Halo 2?

As you probably already know, Halo 2 is going to be released exclusively for Vista. It's a pretty transparent attempt by MSFT to encourage PC gamers to switch to Vista even though almost every other game still performs better under XP.

So, here's the question, "is there anybody out there's who's going to buy Vista just to play Halo 2?"

I voted no, but I have Vista. It makes no sense to upgrade an OS for a game. So while I have no objections to having or using Vista, I'd never buy it for a game.

Buy vista? No. I'll just get a Business edition key from a friend for free. Gotta love MS handouts 🙂

Halo 2 sucks.

Agreed, your choices are pretty bad too. You obviously don't like Vista but you should make at least one option that doesn't bash Vista in the process.

I already have Vista, but voted no...Why would someone buy a $100+ OS so they can play a game that is not revolutionary? I think Crysis is a game to upgrade for. Halo 2 is nothing more than a 3 year old game with polished graphics. It does not need DX10.

I already have Vista installed to a second partition, but am in no hurry to get Halo 2. Maybe when it's $10-20.

Same here. When Crysis comes out I'll be switching to Vista.

There are very, very few games that I would upgrade an OS for, and a Halo installment is certainly not one of them.

I already played it years ago on my Xbox. 😕

Same, it sucked then and i imagine it still sucks now. Me and a friend co-oped through it, got bored halfway and started killing eachother repeatedly.

Even if it was on XP, I wouldn't even consider buying that game unless it had co-op play. There's certainly nothing particularly interesting about that shooter, but there just aren't that many co-op games on the PC these days.

QFT. Also, I already have a copy I bought for 5$ used for Xbox that I never play on my 360.....

I'd never pay that much just to play a game. I like the Gran Turismo series as well (played at a friend's place) but haven't bought a playstation because of it. I've never even played the Halo series, and they don't look appealing to me.

I might eventually get Vista though.

Bad poll.

No I'm not going to buy Vista just for Halo 2. I'm eventually going to have a Vista machine, and might eventually pickup Halo 2 - especially if it finally supports co-op.

12:00 AM- Halo 2 is released

5:00 AM- Halo Severs experience a minor crash from too many people playing online at once

7:00 AM- Halo Servers are back up, only to go down again when the internet experiances a slowdown from people complaining about crappy service

12 PM- Everything Runs Stable

7:00 PM- Microsoft announces big success

12 AM_ Crack is released that allows XP users to play halo 2.

Who would want it even if it was for XP? Wasn't the first Halo on the PC bad enough, and Halo 2 wasn't even as good.

"I f***ing cannot play Halo 2 multiplayer. I cannot do it." -- Bungie Technical Lead Chris Butcher

What's the appeal in an ugly outdated badly ported Xbox game with missing features?
