what do you think about new final fantasy game ? (FFXV) to be honest i miss good ff game. ( and good jrpg).

Not sure. Kingdom Hearts 3 for sure but I'm a bit gun shy with Square these days. Used to be my most beloved developer.

Some had Disney....I had Square. Sigh. People before me read or watched their fairytales. I got to live mine and explore those worlds.

Today it would be like Disney making nothing but Fast and the Furious movies now.

Please come back Square. Moon! Answer our wish!

9 was meh.
X was meh
X-2 was ok but ultimately meh.
XII was annoying.
I didnt even bother with XIII

No, I been out of the loop for a long time. Would rather replay the old ones on a Wii or GBA or something than even look at the new ones.
 
I will, but it doesn't look promising. Worst case scenario, I never finish it and "waste" $60. But, since I will probably put in a good amount of hours before I give up, it won't be too bad in the value section.

Uh, 9 was one of their very best FF. It however did appeal to those that grew up playing FF from the first one on the NES.

I'm not sure about this 15 though, I'm still trying to force myself through 13. D:
 
I played about halfway through 13 and got bored. 15 looks pretty good from what I've seen so far so I may pick it up.
 
Nah. It's a shame too. I actually really liked most the FF's on the consoles, except for X-2, which was meh to me. X is among my favorites. Hell, I even liked XII.

But XIII went WAYY off the deep end. And it doesn't seem like SE is getting their act together in that department.
 
If they're good, then sure; why not? I enjoy a good RPG, but I will admit that I am picky about things like the battle system. I've had a lot of trouble playing games from the Tales series because I just don't like the weird Tekken-ish fighting.
 
Doesn't everyone know the rule for FF games? The best one is the first one you played. Every game released after that is going to suck to you.

The aren't all developed by the same director, so they will never have the same consistency as Eij Aonuma working on every Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.

Nope. They have been turning it into a dudebro game since 7.

And the first one I played was Mystiq Quest and the best of the entire franchise IMO are 4 and 6.

Yeah the first one I played was 1. Liked it, but II and III blew me away with awesomeness. Then the GB 'Legend' games, which were pretty good. Didn't like Mystic Quest much at all, gave it an hour or so before giving it away. Played 7 for about the same, well maybe watched someone else go a little further, but HATED what they did to it. Absolutely HATED it. Exploration, gone. On-rails super limited gameplay with major focus on FMV? There ya go. I forever wrote off FF after 7.
 
Liked the real IV-V-VI games, but didn't get to play them until years later. I actually got IV on SFC, but couldn't read Japanese, so it was borderline unplayable for me.

Omg! This man bashed FF7! Get him!

Seriously though, I very much disliked everything after 6 until 9 (which was decent, but not great). The rest of the series has been around that level of "only worth it because no other decent JRPGs are being released in a timely manner."

FF7 seriously hit that point in disc 3 where it was like 20 minutes of gameplay, 20 hours of movie.

Oh and FF7 blows, most overrated game in history along with Halo.

I usually get dogpiled by FF7 lovers. That's fine, I can understand the love of it for those that liked it's particular style. It just wasn't FF to me.

I cannot understand the love of it at all passed the "I just turned 12 and the PS is the first console I've ever played" crowd. Nobody that played a FF before 7 should have liked it.

Why not? The first I played was III for the SNES and thoroughly enjoyed VII. Heck, that game still has my favorite magic system.

I liked 13, and 13-2 to a lesser degree. I won't be getting 14 since its MMO but I'll get 15 assuming it isn't an online game of some kind
