Just installed WinXP. Not sure if I should install DX9 or not. I dont play many new games (just ut2k3). Actually, thats pretty much the only game I play. Should I bother installing DX9? Or just leave XP with whatever it has by default? My vid card doesnt support dx9 features, so I'm not sure I should install it.

If you can update to the latest version of DX8, you'll be fine. DX9 isn't going to give you any immediate performance or features, but some games are already requiring it (just a DEMO of one game we tried last week required installing DX9). I don't know if it's yet been beta-tested, I mean migrated to, by enough people and definitely stable and not going to cause performance loss.

 From what I hear in conjunction with the latest drivers there is a small increase in using DX9 even with nVidia's DX8 cards but at the same time it can also bring headaches so you may want to stick with DX8.1 for a wee while longer.
