Ever see those people on the side of the road holding signs that say, "Will work for food"? (Not to pick on them.. but)
Have any of you computer doods ever give the thought of trading "work for CPU cycles?"
Let's say a small job that you would normally make a few bucks on, but instead of monetary funds, ask the network admin or company owner to crunch WU's instead?
I've done a lot of work with local schools and with the amount of power they run idle all the time, I think I can really increase my (our) stats. I have a "hold harmless agreement" with them anyway so I would modify it a bit and resign the contract. 🙂
What do you think? Crazy? Let me know...
