"No Go Zones" ?

Fox News Apologises For Saying Birmingham And Parts Of France Were 'Muslim Only'

"Fox News has apologised for claiming England and France had "no go zones" where only Muslims are allowed and which police fear to enter.

<snip>

Fox News presenter Julie Banderas told viewers: "Over the course of this last week we have made some regrettable errors on air, regarding the Muslim population in Europe, particularly with regard to England and France.

"This applies especially to discussions of so-called no-go zones, areas where non-Muslims allegedly aren't allowed in, and police supposedly won't go."

She continued: "To be clear, there is no formal designation of these zones in either country, and no credible information to support the assertion there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion.

"There are, certainly, areas of high crime in Europe, as there are in the United States and other countries, where police and visitors enter with caution.

"We deeply regret the errors and apologise to any and all who may have taken offence, including the people of France and England."

I think Victorian should tour some "No-Go" zones and share his/her enlightened view of humanity with the locals.

So you're trying to say "The man on the telly said so, not meeeeee." It just happens to fit your agenda so you're posting it without committing to actually agreeing with it. Convenient.

So you believe everything you see in a pamphlet?

You must be popular with the nutters in airports.

Those are stickers put on lamp posts and walls, etc, in "Sharia Zones". Look that up. It's a real phenomenon, much as you don't want to believe it.

Sure it is.

Of course, evidence is usually liberally biased, so just continue ignoring it while practicing your faith-based politics.

Look up "sharia zones" and "sharia patrols" instead of the brand new buzzword getting its fresh coat of whitewashing.

So it's the same exact thing has non-official gangs patrolling an area?

Or an unofficial "neighborhood watch" patrolling an area?

Or having some George Zimmermans around to make sure the wrong people aren't carrying tea and skittles in your neighborhood.

Right.

When you actually have something reality based to discuss maybe you could start doing so?

"NEVER miss an opportunity to mock/insult your opponent." - Feminist rule #1
You're the one with the cognitive dissonance and pretending to believe in only what you prefer.

The truth is VERY easy to find but it'll shatter your nice fantasy of everyone getting along if we just play nice and give muslims everything they ask for.

Funny how people latch onto evil Mooselems and terrorism, while ignoring all of the other incidents of terrorism not perpetuated by Mooselems.

Cognitive dissonance, indeed.

Look, I understand that you have issues with feminists of some kind or another but this isn't a discussion about #gamerblame and I'm damned if I understand what those issues have to do with Islam.

As for the topic at hand, it's obvious that all you're doing is passing on propaganda points that have little, if anything, to do with reality. Seriously, we're supposed to believe your vague hand-waving over the real life experience of people who actually live in those countries?

When even Fox News backs down and issues one of it's weak apologies it might be worth reassessing the quality of the crap that's being fed to you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking_Age#Ireland

The Irish are very aware of all the mixing they did with the Vikings, weird that you say they have a problem with the Scots for it

I'm not personally saying it. I've read it in various sources. I research the topics Scottish, Celtic etc from time-to-time.

In any case it's much more than just Vikings. The island of Great Britain had many other 'invaders': Romans, Saxons, Normans etc.

I actually think her stories embody elements of Scottish lore. (Some of her family was from Scotland.)

A quick google show nothing in relation to the Irish using that term as you wrote. Only thing I can find is Harry Potter references. <shrug>

Jindal apparently watches foxnews http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/19/politics/jindal-no-go-zones-london/index.html

He missed fox's apology about no go zones. http://money.cnn.com/2015/01/18/media/fox-apologizes-for-anti-islam-comments/index.html

This is a fantastic example of how if enough ignorant people repeat something enough it will take on a life of its own even when the first ignorant ones admit they were talking out of their ass.

I think I saw Jindal on CNN saying this stuff. This is another politician saying the "right things" in order to get votes from his people. Maybe he feels that the people who vote for him want to hear stuff about Muslims. Just another politician. Too bad people think the politicians are out to help them. So sad.

If you look at the news, which one should not do too much, it seems like the European bigots and racists are out in full force - along with many other cowards on the internet. It seems like these people have nothing better to do than go to Muslim-related stories and say all kinds of mean things. In France, there appears to be a lot of attacks against the so-called "Muslims."

I mean, how do these peace-loving Westerners know who is a Muslim or not? By appearance alone? Or do they ask them for their personal beliefs? I thought the peace-loving Western people were so enlightened and sophisticated as to not write hateful messages on Mosques and commit all kinds of attacks. Guess not. I guess they are just as petty and hypocritical as the so-called "Muslims" they are attacking.

What a human race we have. So much progress in terms of technology yet we remain so shallow and petty. I doubt things will change in the near future. We all feel we are doing the right thing and living a good life. Even the "terrorists" feel they are doing the right thing and living a good life. When everyone feels they are doing the right thing, you know for sure the world is going to hell. Maybe it already has.
