will unlocking pipes improve my moving watching experience?

if i choose the gto2 card and unlock the pipes...will i notice any improvement when watching movies?

i was set on the gto..then almost chose the x1600xt...i'm just like a ping pong ball trying to choose

I dont think you will. Someone else who is more knowledgable than me will tell you for sure though.

if all you do is watch movies, you made a pretty stupid choice to go with the gto. The x1600 would have been far better because it has avivo h264 accelleration. and most movies you will find on the internet are soon going to be encoded in h264, because of its awesome quality.

no unlocking the pipes will not give you any benefit watsoever.

thats mostly what i do..i also do video editing and other multimedia stuff...however i dont thikn that will affect the choice.

...you recommend any particular x1600 card?

i believe the a8n-e mobo will fit my needs best..so something that is compatible and doesn't have to many issues.
