Will this work?

I sold my 13gig and was wondering if I could tranfer all the files even Win98 off it to another(10gig) HD and it load with no problems?

I heard when you do this it messed up the registry for secur reasons. Maybe if it won't I will prob install Win2k on it and run it till I find me a new HD just to see what its like.

LMK Thanks

you can use drive copy or ghost to do that! 🙂

I've tried and it doesn't work. I used software called Drive Copy, by Power Quest, and it works really well, except it copies EVERYTHING, even the partitation sizes, so you have to re-size your 13GB partitation down to the size of the new drive (10GB). You don't have to do this if your new drive is larger then the old drive.

It could be done easily with norton ghost without all the resizing B.S.

Actually most HD makers have a boot disk that would set the drive up and copy all the information for you. Just take a look at their website.
