I want to hook up my computer to our big screen TV and I saw this adapter by ATI the will convert DVI signals to component and am wondering if it will work on my Nvidia Geforce 4 TI4200 card.
DVI to component

if not the DVI one, would the VGAone work?

My guess is they will work.
I dont see y those adapters would be ATI compatible only, since DVI, VGA, and component video are standardized outputs.

I made a similar thread and asked this question several months back (before I got my 6800GT), and I was told that it wouldn't work. I haven't actually tried it though...don't have the DVI->Component adapter anymore.

I was also told it wouldn't work on this site, and even if it did it wouldn't look very good. Basically what they told me was something along the lines of the signal output from ati is different from that of nvidia and the "conversion" done by the adaptor wouldn't work because the signals aren't the same.

Either should work, you need something like PowerStrip (software) to get the custom resolutions you'll need.
