AMPX at Newegg

I am thinking about getting 4 of the:
WINTEC AMPX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory $84.99 + free shipping @ Newegg

My setup:
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX
2 x EVGA 8800GTX
2 x Raptors 150GB Raid 0
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad

I currently have 2 Pxxxxxt 1066Mhz installed. Runs like a dream, until I installed another 2. Constant restart. Turns out that unless I buy a 4 module kit, it is not guaranteed that it will run. I read that these AMPX will run 4 on a motherboard no problem at 1066mhz and it also support EPP. I have purchased this brand before and have no complaints.

Are there any other suggestions or recommendation for running 1066Mhz in 4s?

I actually had a similar question and e-mailed them this morning. Had to wait a few hours for a reply since they're apparently on the west coast and didn't open for business until half an hour ago.

Anyways, here's the response:

Subject: Adding an additional 2x1GB of RAM

Hi,

My current system uses a 2x1GB kit of AmpX DDR2-800 (CAS 5). I was
wondering if there would be any issues with adding a second identical
kit to that, to bring that up to 4GB total. I've heard that some RAM
brands may have rebooting/stability issues unless you buy all four RAM
sticks in one kit.

Motherboard: Foxconn G9657MA
OS: Vista x64

Thanks.

Wintec Industries tech guy:
Hello XXXX,

Thank you for purchasing Wintec AMPX memory. There should be no issues
with adding a second identical kit to your system.

Best Regards,
Wintec Memory Support

You might want to e-mail them (techsupport@wintecind.com) to make sure that also applies to their DDR2-1066 stuff.

Running 4 sticks of memory always put a higher strain on the memory subsystem and NB.

You are more than likely going to have to raise NB voltage for full stability.

Any questions feel free to PM me.

Cheers,
