OK...I've got some old video footage on VCR tape. I would like to burn those to a DVD burner that I have now. I've been looking for a capture card in the FS/T forum. I was offered an ATI AIW Pro 128 and the guy says this: I have a ATI AIW Pro 128 for sale... with breakout box, does capturing, and output to TV, RCA, Cable in, and SVideo. I'd let it go for $XX with breakout box, etc.

Will this do what I want?? Would I just replace the old TNT2 Ultra card thats in there now?? Thanks for any help!

I take it then I'm just better off going with something like a Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe TV Tuner??

Most likely. I also heard that the AIW 128 doesn't have the best support under XP as well.

do you use the AIW normally for recording?

(if you've already got it and the quality is good enough for you, why spend money on a new one)

Just stopped using this "garbage card" a few weeks ago. I think it's OK for recording video tapes. VCR format is far inferior to what this card can do. I have used it to convert video from an analog camcorder. THe breakin box is handy. But like others said ,better off get a newer AIW, 8500 and up.

I use a AIW 7500 via Pinnacle Studio 8 to capture VHS-C and VHS. Yes, the video is NOT DV quality, but neither is the original. But, I can convert it to DVD with fair results.
