Will this shirt shrink?

I bought an American Eagle XS polo shirt today. I don't try on shirts in the store, just pants, so when I get home and try it on, it's wayyyy too big. It's about the size of a medium shirt.
It's 100% cotton, and does not say pre-shrunk anywhere on the shirt.
If I wash this, should it shrink? Because otherwise it's tagged incorrectly.

wash warm, dry high heat for 15 minutes or so, see what it looks like.

edit: save tags in case it does shrink too much
 
yes it will shrink

i purchased 2x waffel shirts from the Gap XXl and they shrunk so much i dont think ill be able to wear them now
even in a cold/cold wash and low dry

I'm pretty sure their shirts don't shrink down 2+ sizes. I might suggest returning it before washing it, because if you wash it, they probably won't let your return it. 🙂
 
What temperature does the tag say to wash/dry it? If it says cold water, cool dryer, then it's probably gonna shrink in hot water/hot dryer.

Machine wash cold with like colors only.
Tumble dry low remove promptly

It'll shrink. How much? Dunno. Sometimes polo shirts shrink a lot.

will shrink..EVEN if it says preshrunk.. can ya stretch it a little? it'll shrink for sure... ithe only wy it wont shrink is if its a knit or something
