Will this RAM work on this Mothreboard?

Sorry, I am not the greatest when looking at motherboard specs, but I am slowly learning 🙂

I have a 3 year old a1240n HP computer, and I want to upgrade the Memory to the maximum 4GB.

here is the motherboard specs via HP's website

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfr...&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Memory Installed: 1 GB (2 x 512)
Maximum allowed: 4 GB* (4 x 1 GB) requires the replacement of the installed 512 MB DIMMs
Speed supported: PC2-3200 MB/sec
Type: 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM
DIMM slots: Four
Open DIMM slots: Two

The basic confusion for me is which DDR2 RAM will work on my computer. I see about 15 different DDR2 speeds on various sites, but none mention anything close to a 3200 speed (DDR2 400 all the way to DDR2 1200 I've found). Which DDR2 speed will work according to the specifications above? Would DD2 800 work, in say, a DD2 533 slot? Or is the speed crucial to the motherboard?

DDR2-400 = PC2-3200. I think DDR2-800 would work. It'll just run at DDR2-533.

This ram should work with your motherboard.

The following ram is just a 2GB kit (2 of them would work) but it's out of stock.
