I'd like to know if the ^^ power supply, FSP 450W, would power the following system that I will be building shortly, although I might change a *few* things. Pretty sure it will, but w/ an X1800XT IDK, since it has "450W PSU or greater recommended".

DFI Ultra-D Motherboard
AMD Opteron 144 (to be OC'd @ 2.4-2.6)
2GB Patriot RAM (1GBx2)
1x Maxtor 200GB Ultra ATA/133 HDD
Sony 16x DVD-ROM drive
1x case fan (havent chosen it yet, and in this case it doesnt really matter)

Thanks.

Yes, that PSU is plenty.

What case are you using? Air flow can be pretty important when you are dealing with high powered CPUs and graphic cards.

Well the case is something I'm not 100% sure on yet. I planned on using an old Gateway case (Pentium II system), it has 1 fan slot in the back. Is that a bad idea? I know very litte about cases and the like........

Yes, that is a very bad idea, air flow is important.

Since you were ok using an old (ugly) Gateway case I'm assuming looks are not important. Antec make some very nice functional yet boring cases. They make great first cases and you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Why exactly is it a bad idea to use the case because of airflow though? What are the advantages of a newer Antec case? And could you recommend a good Antec case that's good price-performance? Thanks.

P150, but it's not economical (even if it does come with a very nice PSU already)
SLK3000B, cheaper and a good no frills case.

Might want to buy another 120mm fan to increase airflow, but a single 120mm exhaust fan and a good PSU fan should be enough to keep everything going.

These cases have room for way more fans than just the 1 that comes installed already, right? The fan that comes installed already is at the rear, but you can put a fan in the front, am I right?
