Will this mixed OS Home-network function?

My current setup: crappy AT&T DSL, wired PC running XP Pro SP3 and two other computers wireless on the same OS.

With a new build planned for the wired PC, I'd like to upgrade to Win7 64. Any problems with the two older computers, which will still run XPSP3 connecting to the network? Also, which version of Win7 for the new machine?

Thanks ...

The OS on one machine has no bearing on whether other machines can connect to the network (except perhaps if that machine is serving as the router). The steps to do things like share files may be slightly different.

It is impossible to answer which version of Windows 7 would make sense when you have provided no information on how you will use the computer. For most home users, Home Premium is fine. But if you want a specific feature like, say, BitLocker, then that won't work.
