Taking any and ALL suggestions about this build it's my first.

This computer will be used for general tooling around and primarily gaming.
My biggest questions are about the mobo and graphics card seeing as I know the least about those two. Also an idea for mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146070
But again I don't know what the big differences are besides micro ATX and ATX and also do I want crossfire support? These are the things I'd like to know, THANKS!

Well it looks pretty solid for what you have. You may want to consider getting an aftermarket cooler, but it will probably pretty good even with out. I'd also check out if there are any deals on a slightly beefier PSU, you'll prolly be able to get away with 620W but if you have any intention of getting another graphics card or something, you'll probably want at least a 700W.

From what I've seen the only thing you'll be missing out from a MicroATX is maybe one or two pci slots. Crossfire support seems to be pretty standard these days, but unless you honestly plan on gaming really hardcore and buying a new graphics card to add onto this system then it's not a huge deal.

Any other questions?

For $20 more you can get the WD 1tb Black, which will have a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 1 year warranty offered with the Seagate.

Video card isn't exactly the best bang for your buck, but otherwise the setup looks solid.

The thing about the slots is that it is better have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them...

That said, if you are sure you will not need the slots then don't worry about it.

Back in the day it was more likely you would need a slot for some kind of thingy that didn't come on the MB, like audio or a network card. Today's boards come with enough stuff built in that the slots sit empty in a lot of systems...

Lucas, noticed you have about three other topics out there. Summarize what you have gleened from those responses so folks here know what you have done so far. Answer the sticky, but I would bet, depending on the budget you go after, that your best option will be some variation of mfenn's Midrange guide at the top of this section (Gen Hardware). So, read that also. In addition, for gaming, what games are you worried about? There may be a difference in what to use based on the primary games and what your budget actually is.

Sticky Questions
1. Gaming, Specifically bf3, L4D2, Payday the Heist, Just Cause 2, Arma 2, but I'd also like to be ready to play any game I become interested in.
2. I already have the case and I'm really looking to spend another $950-1000, I already have speakers, a gaming headset, cd/dvd burner, and windows 7.
3. Trying to buy from newegg and newegg only just to keep it simple, and in the US.
4. I don't really care about the brand... I want it to work and last.
5. Going to be using the case I have, NZXT Guardian.
7. I don't think I'll be overclocking, don't want to have to I don't wanna burn anything.
8. The monitor I wanna buy has a resolution of 1920x1080.
9. I'm planning on having all the parts purchased buy the end of this month.

I've learned a lot from the past topics. I didn't even know I needed ram before I came here (don't judge) and the reason I'm making new topics is because, like I said I'm not buying the parts later tonight and I really want to be 100% on what I'm buying by the end of this month and I want to be sure it'll preform how I've asked. This also being my first build I'm nervous about it and want it to be great. Thanks for the help and feedback.

PSU: Alright
Monitor: Alright
CPU: Alright
Mobo: Problem here, you're paying $90 + shipping for an H77 motherboard, for the same cost you could be getting a Z77 motherboard which has all the features + the ability to overclock, I see no reason to pay this much for an H series board. If you don't want to OC, grab a nice cheap B75 motherboard.
Harddrive: Alright (though the 5 year warranty on the WD drives is nice)
Graphics Card: Bit of an uncommon choice but the Windforce cooler design is pretty nice, and you might be able to overclock it a fair bit thanks to the massively increased cooling.
Ram: Alright

Are you putting together a system with this much money in it and not getting an SSD?

SSD I'm planning to buy a few weeks after just because I'm cheep 😛
SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820148529

Could you post a link to a B75 motherboard that would be suitable? And on the graphics card should I go with that? I know it's uncommon but I was on the page that said more fans more fun but do you think it'd be safer to go with MSI 7950 on mfenn's build?

yes i would say get the MSi twin frozr as it has a great cooler for overclocking ?

cool looks like final price with some newegg sales tonight is $939.93 thanks guys! post anything that might make me more confident about spend 940 dollars

yea true but the MSi is $329 AR

In regards to the CPU, the 3570K is only $5 more after the promo so no real reason to, however on that note the 3570 itself will only be $200 if you grab it with the promo.

And yes the MSI is only $330, but it also has $8 in shipping. It's roughly $12 cheaper but I personally prefer the Windforce design to the Twin Frozr.

the reason i said that is because he said he won't be overclocking ?

It has a higher base and turbo frequency, the extra $5 plus the possible resale value makes it very worth it imo. However since the 3570 also has the promo, I don't see much reason to not just get that for $200 instead.
