Can jumping from 2 core to a 4 core processor cause program or operating issues. I'm running vista ultimate 64. No heavy gaming just Flight SimX. GE 260 video card - main drive 1 TB. 6GB memory - no overclock anywhere (intel made P35 board). 650 watt beQuiet power supply.🙂
 
No and no - as long as your system boots back up at all, that is.

Before you buy/switch - check your motherboard for compatibility with the CPU you're considering.

If you cannot find it, tell us what model motherboard you've got and what CPU you want & we'll check it for you.
 
According to Intel - the DP35DPM board with the later BIOS changes is OK with all of the latest 755 chips. Thanks for the skinny on the things Intel won't tell.:thumbsup:
