Will there be an episode VII?

No, there won't be. There's no enough room in the EU for another movie set after ROTJ.

The EU can shove it. If Lucas were to casually discuss his ideas with talented directors and scriptwriter and let them go to work, I'd be all for it, regardless of what's in the EU.

But I really don't think it will be made. At least not until Lucas dies and some relative gets strapped for cash.

I believe Lucas has already mentioned, somewhere, sometime, that he's written something for episodes 7 - 9. If I recall correctly, they focus on Leia and Han's children, twin boy and girl, both of whom grow up to be Jedi. But maybe I'm just high.

The first one was like 78 or something. ROTJ was early 80's. There was over 15 years between it and ep1.

I think Lucas should die and then the inheritor of his estate should give rights to somebody to make 7-9.

I heard something similar yesterday actually. i think luke goes naughty and leia turns into a jedi to save him or something. I thought the books had already been written even (?)...

I think I read that too somewhere. I think he is entertaining the idea. But if Luke is gone by that time, I am pretty sure episodes 7 - 9 will suck. Eventhough I absolutely love episodes 1 - 6 and hated to see it end, it would be even worse if Lucas made 7 - 9 and ruined everything.

A new Jedi Council? hmmm. that may not be too bad then. But there will still have to be brand new characters that people would have to relate to all over again since all the jedi right now are dead, except Luke. If he does make 7 - 9, I still will see them regardless if they suck or not. However, If he does make them, I just hope Lucas doesn't die in the middle of making it and having some other guy take over and screw everything up!
