Will there be a high end card g92 refresh also?

I know that there is a refresh of the mid range cards coming up with the 8800gt and revised 8800gts, but will there be an update of the high end cards coming before the end of the year also?

Has there been any type of official word on this?

Hmm, do you have the article with that info? Maybe I could do a EVGA step-up on that card if I buy a 8800gt now.

I thought the most recent rumour is something high end from Nvidia by the end of Novemeber. And not g92 either. So good that the g92 will have a short run.

Really? I haven't heard that one at all. If you find any info about it could you link it here? I'd hate to buy the GT and have something faster come out.

Well right now the mystery offering is D8E or G92-300. What the hell is it? We know G92-200 or the 8800GT is being released in October 29, and the November 12 launch is "probably" the G80 8800GTS 640mb with 112SPs.

So the question is, are they launching G92-300/D8E in November too? And what the hell is it? Some dudes posted on Wikipedia that the "new" GTS SKU is an 8800GT with 1GB/512MB parts, but that can't be the GTS that's launching in November, because we know that one is 640mb and can run in SLI with the older model, so chances are it ain't a 256-bit, 65nm part. I think some people may have confused G92-300/D8E with the new GTS. The question is, does G92-300 even exist, and how the hell is it gonna fit in between the new GTS and the old GT? 3% performance difference between each SKU for $50 increments in cost? Lol.

The links I posted above are the D8E which is supposedly finished and it's just waiting on new drivers. It's a high end card with 2 G92's on it. Releasing a new GTS just doesn't make sense. Releasing the D8E does make sense though. MSRP of $499, Ultra $429, GTX $379, GT $279 GT256 $219 would fill out nicely. The GTX or Ultra could be phased out though. That's why I need to buy from a place that offers "rentals" just in case the D8E drops next month. lol

I hope so. This recent interview with Cevat Yerli could be construed as a new high-end card release in November, unless he's actually referring to the 8800GT (which I personally hope he's not).

Cevat Yerli: Very, very well. Stay tuned for more on this. In mid November you will see the new NVidia cards. They are a blast for Crysis and really, really very good deals.

Do you guys think its worth selling my Aeron chair to be able to afford the new high end nvidia video card when it comes out ? I would go from a Aeron to a fold out chair lol. I think I am going to first buy a Geforce 8800 GT to hold me off though then step up to the high end nvidia video card that comes out. Doesn't have to be a fold out chair thats just what I was using before sense I didn't want to spend money on a chair then have it just sitting around after getting the Aeron. So I guess the $20 black chairs or maybe up to $60 to use from the Aeron chair money. I don't know if its worth it.

Well, if he says they are really good deals, he is probably talking about the GT specifically. The GT definitely fills the definition of a "new" card as well, the "new" GTS remember is a G80 which by default has 128 stream processors. In this case it just means they are all present, or, if the new GTS is also 112SPs, then 16 SPs are locked instead of 32 normally for the GTS. So it's not really a new card at all. But the GT brings playability to the masses for Crysis.

I didn't think that NVIDIA was going to "launch" the new 8800GTS. I thought it was going to just sort of silently replace the previous one with little fanfare.

Absolutely not. Keep your Aeron. I would be willing to bet that after a few days back in the fold out chair you would really miss the Aeron. Plus, a bargain on an Aeron chair is much harder to come by than a bargain on a video card.

I think so to but with the money I saved when selling the Aeron chair I can still buy a pretty good chair but then have some left over for the next generation nvidia card. Not sure yet what I am going to do.

You can't tell me those chairs are worth that kind of money. Even the cheapest Aeron chair is over 5 bills. WTF??? Anyway, yes, sell it, get quad SLI. hehehe. J/k. Wait til the new stuff gets here. So close.
