Will there be a GTX 760 ti?

Hello so I am building a PC, and my original plan was to go with a 760 ti, figuring it would be priced around the 670, and be a bit faster than it, but now I've been hearing speculations that there wont be 760 ti because of the small gap between the 760 and 770, so should I buy a GTX 760? Or just wait and see if Nvidia does release a 760 ti?

There is a sizable price gap between the gtx 760 and gtx770.

Well, they've left the spot open. It would be a tight squeeze though and, once O/C'd the performance differences between the 760, 760ti, and 770 would likely get pretty muddy.

Yeah, performance wise, there really isn't a whole lot of room to add in another card to make it worthwhile. Just overclock the 760.

I don't think so. But anything can happen? Nvidia did state that they're done for 2013 as far as desktop GPU releases, but if they want to change that - that is obviously their prerogative.

But, I really don't think they will. The performance gap between the 760 and 770 isn't large with stock/reference configurations, so it doesn't seem to make much sense. Several 600 level SKUs are still being produced, as well (while the 670/680 are end of life)

760 TI seems highly highly unlikely:

The 760 as it is now *IS* supposed to be the successor of the 660 TI (see NV slides).
As compared to the 660 TI, the 760 is "only" 10% ish or so percent faster, h/w differences are minimal, eg. the wider bus.

There is no reasonable gap where a 760 TI would fit between a 660 TI and the 760, or 760 and 770 (IMO).

Ti cards are there so that cheapskates* can feel like they're part of the high-end.

*Depending on your point of view, you could also describe this group as "those who think before throwing money at the latest and greatest toy"

GTX 560 Ti 448 slotted in right on top of the 570, at a better price, just sayin'.

I'd rather see 770 dropped in price and a 770 Ti based on GK110 with 40 ROPs and 320 bus.

Edit: Also the fact that we haven't seen such a card is kind of crazy, nVidia must have the fab magic going on if we're only seeing 2 shader cluster cut max GK110 chips. GK110 isn't new, they've been shipping it since a few months after the 680 came out...

It "seems" like there should be another sku between the 760 and the 770. A chip with 1344 shaders for the 7 series is missing. Basically take a 760 with 1152 shaders and up it to 1344, and there is your missing gap sku. 660Ti and 670 both have 1344 shaders with the difference being 192 vs 256bit, 24 vs. 32 ROP, 112 vs 128 TU respectively.

IMHO there should be a GTX 760Ti with the following specs:

1344 shaders (whatever clocks)
256bit Memory Bus Width (with faster than 6GHz memory)
32 ROPs
112 TUs

Basically a 660Ti on steroids. Or a rebadged GTX670 with faster memory and Boost 2.0.

Yes a 2.5/5GB 320bit part is what I was hoping to see.

The GTX 760 has the highest FPS/dollar of any video card out there. The 7870 comes in pretty close though.

Remember: SLI two 760's for ~Titan/690 performance for half the price!
If I was building a PC right now, the GTX 760 would be the card I would choose. The 760ti will most likely be released eventually but I see no good reason to wait for it.

I think there is a bigger gap between the 770 and 780. I am honestly surprised Nvidia doesnt have a 775 on tap to fill that void at 499.
